Hurghada Super Safari quad bike & buggy tour with camel ride, BBQ dinner and stargazing. $40-65? Sounds like a proper adventure. Reality: dusty, loud, overpriced drinks and average food. Honest review after 10 years living here.

Hurghada Super Safari Quad Bike & Buggy Tour | Camel Ride, BBQ Dinner & Stargazing 2026

The van was late. Again. No shock there.

We waited in the hotel car park. Sun beating down. Dust already in my mouth. Then the driver arrived and we bounced off into the desert. The hot wind whipped sand against the windows while the engine groaned like it was about to give up.

Look, I’ve lived in Hurghada over ten years. I’ve done the Super Safari quad bike & buggy tour more times than I care to count. People book it thinking they’ll get a proper desert thrill. In reality it’s a long day of noise, dust and organised chaos.

The quad bikes are fun for the first ten minutes. You fly over the dunes. Sand sprays everywhere. Your teeth rattle. The buggy part is smoother but still bumpy enough to make you laugh. The guides shout instructions in broken English. They try hard.

Why this Super Safari quad bike & buggy tour still sells

To be fair the camel ride at the Bedouin village is the best bit. You sit on the hump while it sways through the sand. The smell of mint tea and wood smoke hits you as soon as you arrive. The sunset colours the dunes orange and for a few minutes it actually feels special.

But here’s what always winds me up. The place gets packed with multiple groups. Everyone’s shouting over each other. The music is the same Arabic pop track on repeat for hours. The music was loud, I forgot my earplugs -- well, I remembered them, but they made zero difference anyway. By the time the BBQ arrived I was already fed up.

The dinner is basic. Grilled meat, rice, some salad. It tastes fine when you’re hungry and covered in dust. But it’s nothing special. Drinks are overpriced again. Four dollars for a warm Coke. Taking the piss as usual.

The stargazing at the end is decent if the sky is clear. You lie on the sand and look up. The stars are properly bright out here. The cold night air hits your skin after the heat of the day. That part I actually like.

Overall the Hurghada Super Safari quad bike & buggy tour delivers exactly what it promises. Quad bikes, buggy, camel, dinner and stars. It’s loud, dusty and chaotic but most people leave happy enough. Just don’t expect a peaceful desert experience.

A flat here costs less than a garage back home, and this sort of noisy desert day is what passes for a proper weekend when you live in Hurghada. Just saying.
